Zimri (Hebrew: "Praiseworthy") was the King of Israel for 7 days, the shortest reign of all the kings of Israel. He was a servant of King Elah who murdered his master and then destroyed all his royal house, leaving no heirs or survivors. The people heard of the conspiracy Zimri committed and made Omri their king, besieging Tirzah, the royal city. He met his end by burning the king's castle right on top on himself.

Upon confronting Jehu son of Jehoshaphat before he killed her, Jezebel taunts him by saying, "Had Zimri peace, who murdered his master?" [1]
