Zechariah (Hebrew: זְכַרְיָה Zəḵaryā, meaning "remembered by Yah"; also Zachariah, Zacharias; Latin: Zacharias) was the fourteenth king of Israel and the son of the previous king Jeroboam II and became king in the thirty-eighth year of the reign of king Uzziah[1].

He did evil in the sight of Yahweh and di not depart of the sin of Jeroboam and refused to repent; as a punishment against his sin and his great-great-grandfather, Jehu's sin, he was assassinated by Shallum son of Jabesh who later became king succeeding him and thus, ending the Dynasty of Jehu[2].
