Shallum, son of Jabesh (Hebrew:שַׁלּוּם Šallūm) was the propreantepenultimate king of Israel. He killed Zechariah son of Jeroboam II, fulfilling the prophecy that came to Jehu, that his sons would sit on the throne of Israel for four generations.[1]
He reigned in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah, king of Judah (in the 8th century B.C.). But like, all other kings of the northern kingdom, he did evil in the sight of God. He only reigned one month before Menahem, son of Gadi, killed him to become the next king.[2]
