Maachah or Maacah (Hebrew: מַעֲכָה‎ Maʿăḵā, "crushed"; Maacha) was the wife of Rehoboam and mother of Abijam and daughter of Absalom[1]. She was the most loved of Rehoboam out of all of Rehoboam's wives and concubines since she bore him the most sons, namely, Abijam, Attai, Ziza and Shelomith[2].

She served as queen mother to Abijam, who likely influenced her son to do evil for she sets shrines for the pagan gods; she influenced as well as the morality of the rest of the kings of Judah as well as Solomon's wives and a significant example of idolatry to the Judahites. She was disposed during her grandson Asa's reign because she set an Asherah pole whom Asa cut down in the brook of Kidron[3].
